Judge Roland Hayes and Attorney Annie Brown Kennedy Scholarship Luncheon

The Hon. Bobby F. Kimbrough (the first African-American Sheriff of Forsyth County) will be the guest speaker at the Winston-Salem Bar Association’s (WSBA) annual Judge Roland Hayes and Attorney Annie Brown Kennedy Scholarship Luncheon, which is to be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 12:30 pm at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. The Mistress of Ceremony for the event will be the esteemed, Forsyth County District Court Judge, Denise Hartsfield.
The WSBA will commemorate the lives and legacies of Judge Roland Hayes and Attorney Annie Brown Kennedy, two trailblazing African-Americans in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County legal community by awarding scholarships to area high school students in their honor. The winners of the scholarships will be chosen from essay submissions from 9-12th graders on the subject of the structure of the U.S. Government. Participating schools include Glenn High School, Carter G. Woodson Institute, Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, and Quality Education Academy.
